Speaking about his journey into entertainment, Officer Woos said he grew up in a well-to-do family, with his father working as a banker and his mother as a civil servant.
He said he attended one of the best secondary schools in Ibadan before deciding to pursue theatre, a career choice his father strongly opposed.
“I’m from a very well-to-do family. My father was a banker, my mum was a civil servant, and I went to the best secondary school in Ibadan before I decided to do theatre,” he said.
According to him, his father was unhappy with the decision because of the money he had invested in his education and had hoped he would pursue a different career.
He recalled that he eventually packed his belongings and left home for Lagos without waiting for the University of Lagos to resume.
“My father was against my choice of career path, so one day I ran away from home and came to Lagos,” he said.
Officer Woos said he initially had no clear plan about where he would stay after arriving in Lagos, but eventually contacted a secondary school friend who was already based in the city.
He said the friend allowed him to stay at his father’s house, where his passion for theatre soon became evident.
According to the entertainer, his friend’s father was surprised by his decision to pursue theatre, particularly because of the privileged background and expensive education he had received.
“He just looked at me like, ‘You just look like someone that has something else there. Why do you want to do theatre?’” Officer Woos recalled.
He said the experience marked the beginning of his determination to pursue entertainment despite the reservations of his family.
